ARTISTIC ACHIEVEMENTS
Hao Rao, 17 years old, was the finalist at
the 18th Chopin Competition in Warsaw in 2021, receiving Hornorable Mention award, performing Chopin’s
Piano Concerto No.1 in e minor under the baton of Andrey Boreyko, thus drew high public attention in both domestic and
international scene. Jan Popis, the musicologist and specially invited critic
by the Chopin Competition wrote as “The 17-year-old
Chinese boy has been showing his natural and charming talent from the very
beginning of the night. His playing is poetic, legato is beautiful….He is a
great talent.”
Though still young, Hao Rao has already
amassed an impressive resume of competition awards including first prize at the
three most prestigious Chinese national piano competitions -- Pearl River,
Steinway and Xinghai Cup – as well as top prizes in major international
competitions including US Gina Bachauer, Denmark Aarhus, Germany Ettlingen,
Russia Krainev, Beijing Chopin and Zhuhai Mozart. He is also a three-year full scholarship
student of the highly exclusive Morningside Music Bridge Festival.
PERFORMANCES
In 2022, Hao Rao will extend his concert
tours in China, France, Poland, including recitals in prestigious NCPA
International Piano Series, Salle Cortot in Paris, as well as concert with NCPA
Orchestra.
His extensive performance experiences have
taken him from Asia to Europe and North America in solo and chamber as well as
concerto appearances with some professional orchestras including NCPA
Orchestra, Salzburg Chamber Soloists and symphony orchestras of Shenzhen,
Ningbo, Central and Xinghai Conservatories, and conductors Jia Lü, Guoyong Zhnag, En Shao, Lin Chen, Huan Jing and Ming Liu.
EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND
He was born in 2004, and began piano studies
at age of four. His talent was evident from the beginning, and at the age of
eight, he began commuting to Guangzhou for studies with Dr. Vivian Li at
Xinghai Conservatory where he is currently enrolled as a third year high school
student.
Hao Rao loves music, opera, ballet, gourmet, roller coaster as well as reading vast piano music. At the age of thirteen, he played Chopin’s complete 27 Etudes in a recital at the Steinway Hall in Guangzhou Grand Theater.

will be launched by China NCPA Classics in 2022.
