Sergei Dogadin


Sergei Dogadin was born in September 1988 in the family of well-known musicians. He started playing the violin at the age of 5 under the guidance of a famous professor Lev Ivaschenko.

In 2012 Sergei completed his education at the St. Petersburg Conservatory, where he was a student of Professor V.Ovcharek (until 2007),  and his father – Professor A.Dogadin, as well as taking master classes with  Z.Bron, B.Kuschnir, M.Vengerov and many others. From 2012 till 2014 Sergei studied at the High School of Music in Cologne (Concert Examination Program, Prof. Mihaela Martin) as well as from 2013 till 2015 he studied at the University of Music in Graz (Soloist Diploma Program, Prof. Boris Kuschnir). In February 2015 Sergei was accepted at the Vienna Conservatory, where he will continue his studies with Prof. Boris Kuschnir.

Sergei has been on tour in Russia, USA, Japan, Germany, France, Great Britain, Switzerland, Italy, Spain, Hungary, Serbia, Lithuania, Denmark, China, Poland, Ireland, Chile, Latvia, Turkey, Romania, Moldavia, Estonia, Netherlands and Azerbaijan. 
          
Since making his major debut in 2002 at the Grand Hall of the Saint Petersburg Philharmonie under V.Petrenko and the St. Petersburg Philharmonic orchestra, Dogadin has since performed on world’s most renowned venues such as Golden Hall of the "Musikverein" in Vienna, Berlin Pilharmonic Hall, Cologne Philharmonic Hall, Warsaw Philharmonic Hall, “Herkules-saal” in Munich, “Liederhalle” in Stuttgart, “Concertgebouw” and “Muziekgebouw” in Amsterdam, “Suntory Hall” in Tokyo, Symphony Hall in Osaka, Concert Hall “Kitara” in Sapporo, Grand Theatre in Shanghai, “Palacio de Congresos” in Madrid, “Alte Oper” in Frankfurt,  "Tonhalle" in Zurich, “Tivoli concert hall” in Copenhagen, Grand Hall of  the Moscow Conservatoire, Tchaikovsky Concert Hall in Moscow, Concert Hall of the Mariinsky Theatre, "Berwaldhallen" Stockholm,  working together with London Philharmonia Orchestra, Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, Berlin Symphony Orchestra, NDR Radiophilharmonie, Budapest Symphony Orchestra, Nordwestdeutsche Philharmonie, Frankfurter Museum Orchestra, Nordic Symphony Orchestra, English Chamber Orchestra, “Kremerata Baltica” Chamber Orchestra, Munich Kammerorchester, Stuttgarter Kammerorchester, Shanghai Symphony Orchestra, Taipei Philharmonic Orchestra, Polish Chamber Orchestra, National Philharmonic Orchestra of Russia, Orchestra of the Mariinsky Theatre, Saint Petersburg Philharmonic Orchestra, Moscow Philharmonic Orchestra, National Orchestras of  Estonia and Latvia, State Symphony Orchestra of Russia as well as other foreign and Russian orchestras. 

Sergei has taken part in festivals such as «Stars of the White Nights», «Musical collection», «Musical Olympus», «Crescendo», Mstislav Rostropovich festival, George Enescu festival, Tivoli festival, Herbstfestspiele Baden-Baden, Oleg Kagan Festival, Schleswig-Holstein Music Festival, Baltic Sea Festival and etc.

He has collaborated with such prominent musicians as Yury Temirkanov, Valery Gergiev, Vladimir Ashkenazi, Vladimir Spivakov, Yuri Simonov, Aldo Ceccato, Thomas Sanderling,  Victor Tretyakov, Vasily Petrenko, Anu Tali, Muhai Tang, Dmitry Liss, Denis Matsuev, Alexander Dmitriev, Nikolay Alekseev, Saulus Sondeckis, Mihail Tatarnikov, Nikolai Tokarev, Tatiana Vasileva, Vadim Holodenko, Anna Vinnitskaya, Ken-David Mazur, Kevin Griffiths, Michael Francis, Fabio Mastrangelo, Michał Nesterowicz and many others.

Many of Dogadin’s performances have been broadcasted worldwide - on Mezzo classic (France), European Broadcasting Union (EBU), BR Klassic and NDR Kultur (Germany), YLE Radio (Finland), NHK (Japan), BBC (UK), Polish Radio, Estonian and Latvian Radio.
In 2003 Sergei Dogadin and the Ulster Symphony Orchestra recorded the violin concerto by Alexander Glazunov for BBC. In March 2008 he has released his first CD, including the compositions by Peter Tchaikovsky, Sergei Rachmaninov, Sergei Prokofiev and Alexander Rosenblatt.

Sergei Dogadin had enjoyed the honor of performing during several festivals on Niccolo Paganini’s and Johann Strauss’s violins. Currently, Sergei plays the Giovanni Battista Guadagnini violin (Parma, 1765) provided by the "Fritz Behrens Stiftung" (Hannover, Germany).
